Thursday, January 29 Powhatan Fire & EMS were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Anderson highway near the Cumberland/Powhatan line.  The update included a person trapped and the vehicle on fire.

Engines 5, 3, 1, rescue 2, medic 416 & fire administration were dispatched.  Engine 5 arrived to find a four door sedan with heavy front end damage and a person trapped in the vehicle no fire was reported.  Med-flight was called for transport of the injured person. 

Crews from Engine 5 & 3 worked to free the trapped person and handled the landing zone.  Engine 1 and rescue 2 were canceled as they arrived on scene.
